That Was A Crazy Game of Poker

Yes! Finally! About friggen time! Today I got to hand in my research paper and rewrite of my first essay for Concepts and this lifted a huge weight off of my shoulders. I can finally focus on my work for finals instead of assignments from last month. Couldn't be more ecstatic to be rid of that dreaded research paper, holy shit.

Last week I had worked out picking up extra hours at work, so I ended up working today between my 11AM class and my 330PM class. Got to work with Cara, RT, Ted, Alex D., and Jake. I don't work that often with Cara or RT, which is kind of sad, but I got to see them today so that was fun.

The two of them had to focus on papers to write, so I spent my entire shift watching George Carlin on Netflix. I've never worked on Tuesday's before an I actually really liked working in between my two classes . Usually I'd spend my time between those classes back in my room alone because both of my roommates have classes or work or something of that sort. I don't mind the alone time, but working is a lot of fun and if I get paid to go in the office to have fun, I suppose I'll take it if my boss is offering! She was very understanding when I asked for more hours and she was more than willing to give them to me, which I greatly appreciate!

After work and an awful Rhetoric class, it's awful because it's the worst class on the face of the planet and no one should ever have to take it, I went downtown with Andrew to get free ice cream at Ben & Jerry's! Apparently they were giving out free cones all day and I wanted to get my hands on one. Today was very warm again in Burly, I'm liking this heat wave lately, and it was the perfect weather to walk downtown with just a light jacket and in Andrew's case just a long sleeve tee shirt. Surprisingly, the grass looks unbelievably green in this photo, I'm not sure why because it certainly seemed brown-ish in real life. I'm not complaining!

Well, we got downtown on Church St. and saw the line. Ice cream was a no go, but Andrew had to go downtown and buy Lauren a late birthday present so we spent the rest of the afternoon and night wandering up and down Church St. getting the right gift. We went to Homeport and picked something up and Yankee Candle (dead give away), but she'll love her gifts! Andrew did a pretty good job picking things out though he wanted a girls opinion on things, that's why I was brought along. As the sun began to set, we headed back up the hill to campus. The sunset tonight was INCREDIBLE, I've never seen anything so gorgeous.

Oh, but here is Andrew posing for the camera.

Great day, calm, but I was SO tired because I was up until 4AM this morning finishing that damn paper.

Monday, Comes After Sunday

Monday is my busiest day of the week. I go from class, to class, to my staff meeting, to a three hour night class. Yesterday morning I was thoroughly excited to head to Statistics. The material we are covering now that we've surpassed the most difficult chapter in the book is a lot of fun and not because it's simpler than the previous material, but because it's interesting and enjoyable. Never thought I would say that about a Math course, what's happening to me? Since I began doing poorly in Statistics, I held my professor responsible for my poor performance, yet now that I'm doing well I can see him in a new light. I knew all along it wasn't his fault, it was all on my shoulders, but now that I'm doing well the entire atmosphere of the class has changed, has been uplifted and my Monday's for the next two weeks will start on a good note!

I have to admit that I took no pictures to show you what my Monday looked like. I didn't have the opportunity half the time, plus nothing interesting was worth snapping a picture of. This morning was horribly rainy too! I wasn't about to risk the life of my phone because it was horrendous outside at 9AM when I left for Statistics. I was decked out in my rain jacket, hood up over my head, my umbrella was almost blown out of my hand because the wind was so strong, and I was dripping wet and cold when I finally made it to Joyce Learning Center in the middle of campus.

Even though it was rainy, it was the warmest it has been since the last week in August during Orientation Weekend. It reached a high of 68 degrees in Burly and the rain was cold with the wind, which made it a comfortable 60 degrees I'd guess. The rain subsided eventually and the sun pushed through. By the time I went to my staff meeting at Perry it was sunny as can be, even though the ground was soaked. At our meeting we discussed our second and final Accepted Students Day for the year. It will be this Saturday on the 16th of April. Bret, who is the admissions counselor in charge of the entire event, sat us down and as a group we talked out positives and negatives of our first Accepted Students Day and made changes to what we could. And something at the end of the meeting made the entire day so much better! My coworker Cara was in desperate need of a roommate for a double in Spinner Place next year, which are apartment style suits a 10 minute shuttle drive away from campus. I'd been looking at Spinner since the beginning of the year but it hadn't worked out with my current roommates because Morgan is transferring and Lauren really wants a single, and I don't blame her.

I couldn't pass up the opportunity, so I said yes! Andrew didn't take it well at first, but I feel as if he's come to accept it. It will be hard to not be in the same building as my closest friends, but that won't separate us or damage our friendship in any way. Nothing could do that. And I'll have an apartment with my own kitchen and living room and bedroom. And Cara is 21, which means we can have a glass of wine with dinner and just not have to worry about it. No crazy partying, just a casual drink now and then isn't harmful. It will be so nice to be able to do that without worrying about RA's, though there are RA's at Spinner.

So after my night class Cara and I went to the Housing Selection at the Alumni Auditorium and reserved our double for next year. Living with Cara is going to be so effortless and fun. We're really on the same page and the only thing that could have been an issue is if we shared a bedroom because I really dislike doing it, but we each have our own bedrooms, so we're good to go!

Lately I've been looking at a bunch of different events to attend over the summer. Now that I've been working and saving a certain amount for particular things, I feel comfortable looking at concerts and events that I can pay for by myself. I'm looking at camping in VT, Waterbury to be exact at Little River Campground with Andrew and Morgan so we can go to the Ben & Jerry's Factory which is a 10 minute drive away. I went last summer and I loved it. I kind of want to make it a yearly thing and go to the factory to sample next years flavors. I also want to see the Blue Man Group because everyone I know has seen them and I'd love to see them! Along with those events, there is Yankee Homecoming in Newburyport, MA where I have my beach house and this is a week long event and concert series, all for free, and I always go. Also the O.A.R Summer Tour should be out soon and there is a Ray LaMontagne concert in VT in May. Lots to do! We may not be able to do it all, but I'm sure we can squeeze in a few things in the next four months, even though we will all be working!

Just lots of pictures! After the housing I sat myself down in Andrew's room and planned to finish my now late research paper. I ended up goofing off with Andrew, Morgan, and Nick for four hours and ordered Dominos. BUT, after all of that I was falling in and out of sleep and slowly making progress. After working until 3AM up in my lofted bed in the dark I finally finished it! And I finished my Annotated Bibliography! I'M ALL CAUGHT UP! It is so relieving to have finally finished the big assignment and my professor was pleased as well. I was tired as hell by the time I finished but I felt so good when I went to bed. And my bed finally felt comfortable.

Sunday

Woke up super late and though I wasted half of my day, I could care less. Nothing really happened. I was up by noon and took my sweet time showering and getting dressed for an uneventful day. I got breakfast with Andrew as I usually do and then spent the early afternoon sitting on the back porch taking in Burly at its finest with some good tunes.

For some reason I hadn't thought to take a picture of the big back porch window and the stereo system before. Andrew and I sat on that windowsill for an hour or so yesterday. It was windy, but beautiful in Burlington once again and today it was just the two of us taking it all in. The other day there had been people walking up and down the street and some others hanging out behind the other halls with guitars and friends. Today, it was just us and it seemed like the world outside of that back window was ours and ours alone. We played the O.A.R Live From Madison Square Garden concert halfway through until we had to retreat back inside for some serious homework time.

I've been so behind on my damn work lately, it's stressing me out like no other. My mood has gone south today because I just don't have the time to catch up and it's beyond frustrating. As of right now I have three assignments late and some of them are big. I'm freaking out and yet I'm too stressed to take on all this work at once especially with finals coming up. I need to learn how to keep on top of my work or else I'm going to be in huge trouble. Though all of this is going on, I've been doing my best to balance my school, friends, and work.

One thing that put a smile on my face today were the chalk pictures out on the front sidewalk in front of McDonald. It looked as though some kids from my dorm had just decided to spill there random thoughts all over the sidewalk overnight. I found it funny.

Well, nothing else to say about yesterday. It was fun, calm, nothing happened. Just another day, but I guess that's why I keep this blog. The day doesn't need to be exciting or lengthy, just needs to be lived or gotten through.

The End.

Spring, Has Sprung!

Yesterday and today were two of the best days I've seen in Burly since back in September! It's shorts weather! My dad and his girlfriend Pam came to VT this weekend and yesterday we spent a day together and most of it was spent outside because it was 60+ degrees! An early morning started at 10AM and then at 11AM the three of us headed out to breakfast. I know a few of the restaurants in downtown Burlington, but not many. The only good breakfast place I could recommend would be The Skinny Pancake! (It should be famous in my book, crepes galore!)

Every time I go to The Skinny Pancake I get the same order, I'm not very adventurous when it comes to food, so sticking to something I know is delicious sounds like a good plan. At The Skinny Pancake you go inside to order and then you get a number and pick a place to sit, since it was so beautiful out we decided to bask in the sunlight outside! My usual order consists of The Pooh Bear and a small orange juice...yesterday, I indulged in TWO Pooh Bears, totally worth it. Dad and Pam enjoyed themselves too.

After a nice breakfast we walked Church St for an hour or so. I hadn't seen it so lively in months and it was so much fun to watch all the street performers and musicians. There were SO many kids around too! They were running around like crazy all along the streets, getting between people and yelling. It was too cute, it felt like Spring was here and Summer is on its way. I'm ecstatic, it was an uplifting feeling.

After my dad and Pam had left and said their goodbyes, I spent the afternoon on the back porch with Andrew. Over the past few days a bunch of kids set up a stereo on the back porch and had been blasting music out the huge back windows. Today, Andrew and I took advantage of this and blasted some O.A.R and sat in the window an hour or so. Beyond relaxing and nice to unwind and belt out some good meaningful lyrics. It felt as if we were at a concert and we had the best seats in the house. Taking in the view from the back porch window really opened up my mind. I'm not sure how, why, or what I was really thinking about, but looking around at what I could see of the campus and how far I could see across the lake and down to Church St. was just...nice. This is my school, my campus, my home right now and I couldn't love it more. I know I made the right decision now.

Aside from the back porch, me, Andrew, Morgan, and Nick spent an hour testing a giant bag of jelly beans my dad had given me. We spent that time getting a handful and tasting each one to figure out what they were. I spit out a few. Capucchino is NOT good. At around 630PM Andrew and I headed downtown to see a movie. We had been meaning to see Paul but it had already left the theater so we decided to see Your Highness. It wasn't what I expected, but it was REALLY funny. Completely inappropriate and cruel, and yet it had certain moments that almost made me pee my pants. Not to mention that James Franco is gorgeous and I didn't mind staring at him with his long locks for almost two hours. The night ended with a few more Sam Adam's, a few tears which don't need detail, and lots of hugs and life talks. Excellent day! :)

Happy Birthday Lauren!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LAUREN, DARLING!
Well, it isn't her birthday yet, but this Sunday is Lauren's 19th birthday and since she was headed home for the weekend, Morgan and I planned a girls night of birthday celebrations! My Thursday was long and tiring and so jam packed that the girls night was just a nice way to unwind. I had a research paper due today and I still haven't finished it. My PLAN was to stay up all  night last night finish it, but the champagne, raspberries, shitty pop music, and underwear party with the girls took over completely.

In all honesty, we don't see Lauren that often! So spending the night with her and celebrating her birthday was very important to me. The entire night was a surprise and going from each destination to the next was so anticipating for her, it was great to see how happy she was. First, we took her to the mall on Church St. and surprised her with a manicure. I'm not too into that kind of stuff, but hey, I don't mind getting my nails done once in a while and they looked great. After that, we had to take the necessary trip to Victoria's Secret to look around. A short trip turned into us heading to Olive Garden for dinner. I hadn't been to Olive Garden in two years and I missed it, SO MUCH. Lauren could not stop smiling or laughing with us the entire night. All we did was share stories and enjoy each other's company, which was all we wanted the night to be.

Once we got back to the dorm we cracked open a bottle of champagne and the night had just begun. A box of wine followed suit and by 11PM it was me, Lauren, Morgan, Kelly, Zakk, my friend Chris, and his friend Sean. Chris had come back from a graduation dinner, since he will be graduating in a month or so, so he stopped by for a drink or two and then headed home. Zakk ended up putting Morgan to bed and Mason read us bedtime stories. I'm not sure how the night panned out the way it did, but it was a lot of fun...and long. Getting to bed at 3:30AM wasn't my plan, but that's how it turned out and I wouldn't have had it any other way. I'm only giving a brief overview of the night because if I went into all the details it would be too much to handle. All in all it was a fantastic night, ups and downs, but fun none the less!

Today on the other hand began with Morgan climbing up on my bed, later joined by Lauren, and laughing until we were in tears about the night before. I didn't go to my 11 o'clock, just didn't want to go at all. Not worth me getting up at all. So I spent the morning trying to write my paper, which turned into Andrew painting my toe nails for the first time and I must say he did a pretty good job! Country music was playing (spare me) because it was Morgan's Friday Morning Country Music and the three of us just spent the morning with the windows wide open because it was beyond beautiful out. Above 60 degrees no doubt and the sun was the warmest it's been in months! WE LOVED IT!

Oh and...Morgan wanted to give Andrew a tattoo because he kept flashing his belly button at her.

I did have to work today, which went by incredibly fast. My Friday shift lasts from 145PM-430PM but today it seemed as if I was there for about an hour or so. I spent my entire shift at the front desk. I really like the front desk because I can just sit there and think or read or do whatever else I want. No one to talk to or laugh with and sometimes that's what I really want. So I sat at the front desk and continued to work on my paper (which isn't done yet...as of right now, it's a challenge) and Andrew ended up visiting me from 330PM-430PM until the end of my shift. We got some dinner and headed back to the dorm to relax.

We just got back from Nick's friend's apartment and got our goodies for tonight! Andrew has been dying to try the Sam Adams Variety Pack and tonight we get to indulge. We've chosen the Summer Ale and the Boston Lager for tonight, since there are six flavors and two of each. Hoping for the best! After the wine and champagne last night this beer may taste god awful or wonderful. We shall see! Also, my dad is in town for the next day or so! He and his girlfriend Pam decided to make a trip up to VT to see me and maybe take back some of my stuff to make moving out in a few weeks a bit lighter. He got here at around 8PM and tomorrow I get to go out to a nice lunch with him and walk Church St. or go shopping for a while. I'm excited! Sometimes it hits me, how much I miss my parents and I miss my dad a lot. Seeing him tomorrow will make my day!

And btw, orange juice drank that is more alcoholic than Four Locko...tastes wonderful. What's up, Nicky!

Snow In Spring?!

Burly weather is the definition of bi-polar! One day it's beautiful, sunny, warm (if you can consider 50 degrees warm), and the next day it's snowing. And as of right this moment...the sun is out and gorgeous again! I'm not sure what's going on, but Mother Nature is laughing at us.

Wednesday's are usually very good days because the only class I have is at 930AM and then I have the rest of the day, until 330PM, to do whatever I like. That time is most frequently spent procrastinating on homework, papers, and projects and appropriately spent browsing Netflix and sleeping because God knows I lack sleep most days. I started off the day in Intro. To Psychology, which breezed by, and then it was off to breakfast. Recently I've been mixing juices in the dining hall because I was getting kind of bored with plain old OJ. My latest combination has been OJ and Cranberry juice, which is surprisingly fantastic. It's also a lovely pink color. Aside from that I only indulged in a bowl of Rice Krispies, which was awesome because they rarely have them. I find it strange, it's a famous cereal in my book. I ate a majority of breakfast alone, which I don't mind all that much. After that I ran to my room to make up my Psych midterm online. I got back at around 11:20AM and kind of rushed through it. I hadn't studied at all and it was a make-up because it was about...3 weeks late? Awful, I know. It wasn't a priority and it should have been. I got a 74%, better than I had thought I would earn seeing as I didn't know the answer to ANY question. So I have about an 83% average in the class, which isn't poor at all! I'll take it!

I had spent the majority of my Psych class eating Pringles out of my bag for breakfast. Oh, I know it's the definition of unhealthy, but I had bought two tins of them last night and if I see them...I can't resist them. They practically call my name and they were yelling at me from inside my bag, so I just had to eat them.

After breakfast and being extremely restless in my room alone for about an hour, I decided to go off on a walk by myself. I didn't have a destination in mind, I kind of liked that. I just started walking downtown and found myself headed to the movie theater to see a movie by myself, I've never done that before. I got completely sidetracked though when I passed "Spirit Dancer Books & Gifts". My roommate Lauren's birthday is coming up and I had yet to get her a gift so I thought I'd take my chances and find something for her in there. I lucked out! I got something really cute and I think she'll really like it. I took my time in there too, because it was so calming and soothing. The music was tranquil and I was surrounded by incense (which I LOVE), candles, and enchanting stones and such. I really love that store now, so I'm glad I stopped in! From the time I entered the store to the time I left it decided to start snowing, HARD. Now you know what I'm talking about when I say the weather is bi-polar. I don't like walking in snow, but I sucked it up and headed back to the dorm for a necessary nap. I really liked walking by myself though, left me to my thoughts. Below I decided to add a picture of my favorite path back into the center of campus. I'm honestly not sure why I love it so much, it's probably because there have been so many significant memories either on the path or near it. I really don't know!

After my nap I headed right into work and spent some bonding time with my coworker, Chris Harris. Funny story is that he gave me my tour two summers ago and now I work with him and he's become a friend! Funny how it worked out. Night calling tonight is brief, RT and I only have 55 people to call to ask if they are going to attend the next Accepted Student's Day on the 16th. Other than that we can call it a night, which is great!

It's the middle of the week and I already can't wait for it to end though because my dad is coming to visit me this weekend! During Spring Break I think I only saw him once, so it will be SO nice to see him and spend some time with him this weekend between now and when the semester ends and I'm home for the summer. Sometimes it really dawns on me that my first year of college is almost over...it went by INCREDIBLY fast and yet it lasted so long that I can't remember life in Andover as clearly. It all comes back easily when I go home, but Burly has really really really become my home and I don't like to leave it and what I have here. Not to say I don't have things worth wanting back at home! I love going home! But I'm really loving life in Burly and I plan on staying here for a while after school ends, I've become part of it or more so it's become part of me. Accepting the fact that my first year of college is concluding is scary, I've only got three more years left! I figured it would pass slowly like high school had, but I suppose as you get older, time passes by faster and it certainly is.

Cake Pops

And so, it was a rainy and miserable Tuesday. And when I say miserable, I just mean the weather, because the day itself was a good one!

I suppose the most interesting part of today was my lunch. A few weeks back I had been asked by a woman in the admissions office if I would have lunch with a transfer student and his father. The student was interested in the Psychology program and I'm the only Student Ambassador who is a Psych major. So the family was wondering if they could meet with me over lunch in the dining hall to talk about the program and get a student's take on things. I won't deny the fact that I was incredibly nervous to do so. Giving a tour one on one with a family is one thing, but sitting down at a table with no escape with me not just listing off a rehearsed skit. I tried to look at it in the sense that they were still there to listen to what I had to say and to listen to my take on the program, so that helped me collect myself. Overall the lunch was a complete success. The student and his dad seemed very enthusiastic about the school and made sure to tell me that they appreciated my time and to thank me for some great information. It was very nice. I liked it even more because I made a direct impact on this student's view of Champlain coming in as a transfer student, which must be so much more difficult than coming in as a freshman.

During Rhetoric I received some GREAT news...Miss. Morgan Manfredi got into USM!! She had been waiting for the past few days to hear whether or not she would be accepted to the University of Southern Maine, and so she did! We had planned earlier in the day that if she heard back, whether it was good news or bad news, that we would head downtown to Starbuck's for celebratory Cake Pops! For those of you who don't know what Cake Pops are, you should get your butt down to a Starbucks and indulge. They may be for a limited time only because they were put out for Starbuck's 40th Anniversary, so get there fast!

Not only did we get Cake Pops, but Andrew and I splurged on sweets at Starbucks. I believe our order consisted of two tall Carmel Apple Spice beverages, a slice of pumpkin bread, one red velvet whoppie pie, one peanut butter and chocolate cupcake, two birthday cake-cake pops, and one rocky road cake pop. It totaled to about $17...which didn't surprise me in the least. Starbucks is damn expensive! I threw a lot of money out the window, but it was a celebration! Morgan is going to go off and do great things at USM. She'll also be closer to home, closer to Margarita's (her second home), and all for a cheaper price than here in VT. She will miss it and we will miss her, but there's never really a goodbye and we can always visit one another! By the way, Nick looks thrilled in the photo below.

After our mini celebration, we strolled around the mall and just enjoyed the evening. While we were walking around the mall, Andrew suddenly stopped dead. He had been joking around with Nick, but in a split second his face lifted and a HUGE smile crept across his face. Want to know why? O.A.R was playing in the mall. I don't think he could have been more excited. Though it was hailing by the time we headed back to the dorm, it was a fantastic evening and money well spent though it made a decent dent in my bank account. Church St. at night is absolutely breathtakingly beautiful. Even though it is Spring, they have yet to take down the Christmas lights from the trees that line Church St. and I hope they never do because it's stunning. It is also very peaceful late at night since all the shops are closing down.

At the end of the day, I was happy. It concluded with wrapping birthday presents I had picked up for Alec at the mall and watching the Amityville Horror with Andrew. I've seen it before, but not for a while and it scared me just as much as it had before. Andrew practically jumped off of the bed a few times and our hearts couldn't have been racing any faster than they were. We spent some time afterward talking about summer and all the things we could do. We're thinking about seeing the Blue Man Group in Boston and seeing Ray LaMontagne in VT as a weekend trip. O.A.R is definitely on the list of things we must do. We'll have a packed summer if we work it all out. It's all up in the air as of right now, it will certainly add up money-wise, but I suppose we will see in a few weeks where we stand. Hopefully we can do it all! Besides, I like to pay for his tickets...

Four Days Later...

Good lord, I haven't been on here for four days now. A lot has happened and I really just haven't had the time or the concentration to write anything! Not to mention that on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday I hadn't taken any pictures to post and I felt like I needed to share something aside from words, but here it goes.

Thursday...meh, I don't need to recall Thursday. It involved cheap wine and Pabst and ended poorly. It didn't end poorly due to those two drinks really, but let's just say that the night was awful. Glad I won't be writing about it :)

Friday on the other hand was a lot of fun! I work as a Student Ambassador in the Admissions office here at Champlain College and Saturday was our first Accepted Students Day, which is an entire day of division meetings and tours for accepted students. This year, the admissions office decided to add in another event prior to Accepted Students Day. Bret Dewhurst, who is one of the admissions counselors, organized a new event on Friday night which consisted of a cocktail party for parents and a special edition of The Grind of accepted students. Every Wednesday in the Fireside Lounge, an open mic called The Grind, runs from 830-11PM. This Friday The Grind was open for the accepted students who had showed up to stay overnight due to the fact that they lived so far from Vermont. There was an excellent turn out and the Student Ambassadors had two jobs: mingle and bring kids back and forth from Perry Hall, where the cocktail party was taking place, to the Fireside Lounge to The Grind.

It was a little hectic, myself, Alex, Lloyd, and Natasha were a bit disorganized as to who would stay with the kids and mingle and who would run back and forth to Perry Hall to pick up more arrivals. Aside from that, the event went very well. The students were very timid and quiet at first, not really willing to talk to us or other students. It was expected of course, I would have been so intimidated and frightened being thrown into a group of twenty or more kids I didn't know at a place I had never been. After everyone settled in with free pizza, drinks, and some excellent live music, everything started to liven up. Groups of kids began to talk and play pool and ping pong, Natasha and I even joined in a few games. At around 8PM things were winding down and the parents were beginning to find their kids and head out, but not before Natasha and I were invited downtown with a group of kids. We had to refuse though, due to the fact that we had to get up at 530AM the following morning to prepare for Accepted Students Day. All in all I saw the event as really helpful and a great idea to be put into effect by Bret. I give it a thumbs up!

6AM. The ass crack of dawn. My eyelids were about 5,000 lbs, my entire body ached, and I was rushing around trying to get dressed in my uniform for my first Accepted Students Day as a Student Ambassador. Ready? I get to work...and I realize that I have completely forgotten my name tag in Andrew's room. It's now 7AM and I'm running back to McDonald Hall to get my name tag as soon as possible before my boss chews my head off. Andrew is dead asleep and doesn't hear me knocking on the door. I pounded and pounded, hard, but softly in case I woke up his roommate Christian. I even dashed upstairs to see if my RA, Leah, would let me in, but "she couldn't let me in without Andrew's permission". Irritated and at a loss, I slammed on Andrew's door and texted and called him repeatedly. Luckily he woke up and didn't want to punch me in the face and gave me my name tag. The day started in the Fireside Lounge with a hands in, assembly of Student Ambassadors, and a "Go Champ!" cheer!

My first task of the day was to sit my butt down at a table with RT and Josh Tubbs to help students plan their day. Appropriately named, the station was called "Plan Your Day". We were each given a schedule of the entire day and our job was to help students plan out their day knowing their major interest and if they had visited campus prior to Accepted Students Day. Unfortunately, none of us were familiar with the schedule because we hadn't seen it until that morning, but after a few students we got the hang of it. I had a blast just seeing a bunch of new faces. Even student's eyes were nervous, but once we all smiled at them they smiled back in relief. It felt really good to make them at ease as they began a very busy day with a big decision on their shoulders.

After three hours of planning out days, it was time to "flip the gym". That morning from 8-9AM, the gym was decorated with over 300 folding chairs facing a stage to hear a division meeting.  Our job was simple: remove all the chairs and set up tables for the job fair. Sounds simple I suppose, but it took over an hour to fold up all the chairs, set up each table, and make everything look like the floor plan. Definitely woke me up because I had to use physical strength to get the task done, this made me ready for the rest of the day.

To be honest, I'm always extremely nervous and anxious before giving a tours. Though I can talk easily in front of strangers, better than I can in front of people I know, I get so so so so scared before a tour. I get tongue tied and immediately forget anything I would need to say on a tour the second I approach a family. I feel as if everything I say will effect their decisions drastically, so I don't want to mess anything up. The rest of my day consisted of giving tours. I was kind of excited because I offered my room up for tours and throughout the day I got so many compliments on it! I only gave two tours, which I was thankful for, but they were very close and intimate and I was able to talk one on one with the families and the kids. The afternoon was spent at a table outside in the sunlight with all of the Student Ambassadors. I loved spending time with all of my coworkers at once rather than just on my shifts. They're honestly some of the nicest most enthusiastic people I know and I love working with them. They're not only coworkers, but becoming good friends.

At the fair that lasted from 11-3PM there was a live performance, food, and Vermont Apple Cider, which was my favorite part. During my lunch break I got to spend some time there and unwind a bit since the day itself was pretty stressful and tiring due to the fact that I didn't get to bed until 2AM the night before...probably a big mistake, but I may have learned from it.

As for Saturday night, I went to a coworker gathering with six of my coworkers in downtown Burlington. My coworker, Adam Tinker, had us over for a few drinks and some ruit. I really did enjoy seeing them out of the office as people rather than coworkers. Oh and Jess shotgunned a beer. Aha.

Whelp, Sunday was awesome and I honestly have no energy to write about it. I spent a wonderful day at the UMall, specifically to get McDonald's, with Andrew and then watched movies all day and put off homework. COOL.

Bye.
