HAPPY NEW YEAR! IT'S 2012!
It was wonderful to bring in the New Year with Andrew! Last year was entirely different. Bringing in 2011 in Wellesley was fun, but no party can compare to sitting in a warm living room with people you care about and just talking to one another. I had different priorities last year and I feel as though I've made a huge change this year. I was in Sutton with Andrew at his sister Lindsay's house. Her, her husband John and her two girls, Grace and Ella, were the most gracious of hosts! Though Andrew and I have only been dating for a little under a year, his family has made me feel more than welcome and included. I couldn't love all of them any more than I already do.
We spent the night playing with the girls. The last time I saw them both was on July. They have grown so much! Grace is almost six. She's already a fantastic speller, better than I was at her age! Ella wasn't talking much at all in July and now she is a motor mouth. She couldn't stop telling us everything she was doing. And both the girls are infatuated with their Uncle Andrew. It was so incredible to see him play with them and help them learn. After an afternoon of play, Andrew and I relaxed with Lindsay and John until the ball dropped. I hadn't spent that much time with Lindsay and John, but it was wonderful to get to know them a little more.
Now that the New Year is here, it is time to put everything into action. Well...once I get back to school. Only because I can actually get to the gym there! My meal plan is all in order for the most part and the gym schedule is a go. The really tough part is to stick to it. I've done great with stuff like this before, but I end up getting lazy and giving in to temptation of food or laziness - or a combination of both!
This is healthy food. I like healthy food. I need to get the heck away from McDonald's, pasta, and frozen meals. They aren't helping me out. I can guarantee that I've gained about 10-15 lbs over the past year and a half. I'm only 4'll and that weight has only a few places to go and it has put itself in all the wrong places. I just want to tone it up and be comfortable with my body. I don't need to be super skinny. It's going to be a good new lifestyle I'm going to adapt. Along with that a new semester is starting up.
We have new Student Ambassador's starting in the office. The lot of us will get to train them up and welcome them to our team. It'll be great to get to know a few more people :-) I'll also have new classes and new challenges to face. I'll also be starting to work at the Champlain College Publishing Initiative to get some hands on experience in the "publishing" world. It'll be another year closer to graduation which is frightening and exciting all at the same time! We'll see how all of this goes!
